Cheese from First Milk

Award Winning Cheeses

As the UK’s Cheddar specialist, First Milk is gaining an impressive reputation for its family of cheese brands.

With creameries in England, Scotland and Wales, it is the only cheese maker who can supply English cheese from English milk, Welsh cheese from Welsh milk and Scottish cheese from Scottish milk.

Cheddar from The Lake District Cheese Co is lovingly crafted in the lush Cumbrian countryside.  Pembrokeshire Cheese Co proudly carries the name of cheddar created in this corner of south west Wales.  Generations of Scots have grown up loving Scottish Pride, the everyday family cheese. The tangy flavour associated with Mull of Kintyre cheddar comes from the pastures on Scotland’s rugged west coast while on the Isle of Arran, cheese makers still produce Dunlop cheese by hand to traditional methods.

Provenance – or where food comes from – is becoming increasingly important to consumers.  First Milk is proud of the provenance of its cheese and committed to clear country of origin labelling on all dairy produce.

Alongside developing its brands, First Milk works closely with major retailers to develop and innovate their retailer brand cheese.

First Milk’s cheeses have won many accolades for their excellence, taste and eating enjoyment. Most recently, The Lake District Cheese Co lifted the UK Champion Cheddar trophy at the 2009 International Cheese Awards, in addition to the customer cheese choice award at the same show.

Being a membership co-operative, First Milk knows exactly where the milk it supplies to the creameries has come from and can also guarantee that is of the highest quality for cheese making.
